WGSN’s Future Talent Program for WGSN Subscribers

I love it when our fashion information resource vendors come up with new ways to connect to their EDU subscribers.  This notice was e-mailed to me, but I’ve received permission from WGSN to repost it here.  If your institution subscribes to WGSN, this contest is a fantastic way to increase your usage statistics.  Encourage your fashion/design/textile/art/graphics/popular culture students to compete.

WGSN’s Future Talent program seeks to identify and support new talent in the design industries.

Our new online offering at http://wgsn.tumblr.com/ is keenly followed by the top professionals in the industry, providing a perfect launch pad for the next generation. The WGSN Tumblr will be a hub for regular competitions, assignments and projects with prizes ranging from exposure on the site, to paid commissions and internships.

To kick off the Future Talent activities, WGSN is calling for willing participants to submit their interpretation of WGSN’s AW13/14 Macro trends.

Entry details: We are looking for creative interpretations of the AW13/14 Macro trends from all design disciplines. The winner’s work will be featured on the WGSN Tumblr site, and will receive specialist feedback from the team at WGSN.

Send a maximum of five 150dpi jpg images and 500 words to futuretalent@4c.wgsn.com by 1st June 2012. Entries must include the entrant’s name, email address and institution. Submissions should relate to one macro trend per entry. Additionally, please feel forward the attached poster to your students and post it on notice boards. We look forward to providing your students with exposure whilst also promoting the freshest inspirational work to our audience.
