This Art Documentation article traces the development of a collection of fashion materials within the art and architecture library at Northwestern University, in response to both patron requests and publishing trends. My coauthor (my former department head) and I focused on materials most useful for our academic library patrons, and we make some recommendations, but specifically wanted to write about the very different, interdisciplinary constituencies we observed using the same fashion-related materials. I hope you find it helpful.
