Exhibition: Looking Good: Fashion in Virginia, 1930–1970

Where: Virginia Historical Society

When: Until October 23, 2016

“Looking good is a reflection of individual style and a reaction to larger world events.

During the middle decades of the last century, American women’s fashion adapted to the effects of a worldwide economic depression, three wars, and numerous cultural and technological changes.

This exhibition explores the transformative decades of the mid-twentieth century, when Virginian women were both producers and consumers of fashion.”
