About

Established in March of 2011, the Fashion, Textile & Costume (FTC) Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA)is a forum for sharing ideas pertinent to fashion, textile & costume librarianship.  Participants will capitalize on the shared experiences and knowledge of the FTC library community.  The group is primarily composed of members from academic, public, museum and corporate libraries concerned with developing professional skills in areas such as reference, library instruction, and collection development.

This blog is the official communication forum for members of the FTC SIG.  All active members are invited to contribute to the blog.  Book reviews, exhibition reviews, event notifications, links to news and articles, and other content of a non-commercial nature are all welcome anytime!  Vendors – please contact us if you would like to post commercial content.  Commercial content on the blog is limited to 1 post per quarter.  In addition, we encourage everyone, members and non-members, to follow the blog, and to share or comment on posts.  Our other major resource is the Fashion Librarian’s Resource Guide.
